Around Remzie, 87 years old (Center), 4 generations pose with their Ukrainian passports and photos of their ancestors, on March 16, 2018 - the day of the referendum. As the majority of Crimean Tatars, the Djemilev were deported to Uzbekistan in 1944 by Stalin. During the endless journey in cattle cars, six family members died. The survivors have returned to Crimea in 1990, at the end of the former USSR.
